Back Stitch
A good stitch for outlining an area or motif. It is
a basic embroidery stitch. For a smooth result try to keep each stitch the
same length. Short stitch lengths allow Back stitch to curve and curl smoothly.

1) Bring your needle up through the fabric.

2) Push your needle down through the fabric a stitch length above your
starting point. * The size of the stitch length is entirely up to you.

3) You will now have one stitch.
|

4) Bring your needle up through the fabric a stitch length below your starting
stitch. Try to make your stitch lengths as even as possible.

5) Push your needle down through the fabric exactly at the end of the last
stitch.
|

6) You now have two stitches.
|

7) Continue repeating instructions 4 and 5.
